The Ghost of Guir House by Charles Willing Beale

Mr. Paul Henley gets a letter inviting him to come to Guir House. He doesn't not know the sender, Dorothy Guir, but he's intrigued and decides to go.  He arrives and meets Dorothy and is immediately infatuated with her. He meets her father, Ah Ben, and in two or three evenings they discuss spiritualism.  Paul wonders who or what are these people.
