The White by Deborah Larsen

This is my first selection for the Monthly Key Word Challenge.  The key word is white.
I can include this book in the Color Coded Reading Challenge for category:  7. A book with "White" or any shade of White (Ivory, Eggshell, Cream, etc) in the title.

This book is based on the life of a real person named Mary Jemison. She was born on the boat over to America from Ireland. When she was 16 her family was abducted by Shawnee Indians.  Shew as given to two Seneca Indian women and eventually married twice and started a family of her own.  She had a few opportunities to leave the Indians and go back to living as a white but felt she was more Indian by that time.

This book was very odd at times because of the way Larsen told the story but I stayed with it.  I did enjoy this story.  But it could have been so much more.
