The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black

Tana goes to a lockdown party. It's locked down because of vampires.  They can infect people with just a bite. She wakes up in the bathtub. Why is it so quiet?  Someone should be up making coffee. She goes into the living room and there are dead bodies everywhere and an open window. Oh no! Tana searches to see if anyone else survived.  She finds Aiden, her ex-boyfriend, tied to the bed.  He's been infected. Someone put dark trash bags over the windows. There's a vampire chained to the bed but Aiden is just out of reach. They need to get out of's close to sundown.  Tana gets Aiden and the vampire Gavriel out just as the vampires break down the bedroom door.  She gets scratched by a vamp's teeth as she escapes through the window. Is she infected? The trio decide to go to the closest Coldtown. We learn about what happened in live past lives of Tana and Gavriel.  What will become of them in Coldtown?

I really enjoyed this book. I am hoping that there will be a follow up!

Summary from goodreads:
Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown’s gates, you can never leave.

One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself.

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is a wholly original story of rage and revenge, of guilt and horror, and of love and loathing from bestselling and acclaimed author Holly Black.
