November Word Hunt

In the United States, November 11th is Veterans' Day. With the word hunt this month, we honor the military who have served and are currently serving in all capacities around the world.

Each branch of the US military has a badge and group of words that are related in some way. There are 5 words per badge for a total of 30 words this month. Plurals are OK. One word per book per category, up to 6 words per book total.

November read-a-thon time is here! Set your own goal: number of books to finish, number of pages to read, time listening to an audio-book or a certain challenge or two to complete. Whatever works best for you, set your goal and log your progress. If you prefer, you may just log what you read during the read-a-thon.

During this read-a-thon be on the look out for:
(1) Book titles that begin with the letter 'N'.
(2) Books published in November.
(3) Books with a brown or yellow cover.

November’s mini challenge! 

This is a combination spell/task challenge. You may choose to do the task, the spell out option, or a combination of both.

Challenge Rules:
The page limit requirement is 125 pages; however, participants are welcome to combine smaller books to reach the page limit. All books and formats are allowed (children's, manga, graphic novels, audiobooks, etc). Re-reads are fine - just be sure to re-read the entire book. When posting updates for your challenge, please include the following information: a link to the book title, the author's name, and the date you finished reading the book.

TASKS: 
1. Eleventh Month of the Year: 
November is the eleventh month of the year and has 30 days. Read a book published in November OR a book where the total page number ends in 1 or 0 (ex. 211, 330).

The Chrysanthemums is November’s flower and brings an array of color into an autumn garden. Read a book with the author’s first and last initial found in the word Chrysanthemums OR a book with an orange cover.

4. Zodiac Sign: 
The zodiac signs for November are Scorpio (through November 22nd) and Sagittarius (November 23rd, forward). Scorpio’s element is water and Sagittarius’ is fire. Opposites attracting sounds like a romance novel. Read book in the romance genre, OR a book with water or fire on the cover.
