The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: A Reading Adventure

Stress Free Reading Challenges discussion on goodreads

“Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again.” -Rick Polito, 1998 TV listing for TMC

Think you know the story of the Wizard of Oz? The 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz is full of Hollywood embellishments and has little to do with the classic American fairy tale told by L. Frank Baum that was originally published in 1900. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has magic, interesting characters, humor, good deeds and kindness rewarded in a book that avoids taking itself too seriously and never forgets that there's no place like home.

The challenge begins April 1st!* Sign up in this thread to relive the story or experience it for the first time and get a behind-the-book and behind-the-movie look at this American fairy tale. Check in this post for the link to your thread.

*This is a long term challenge that may require you to read more than one book for a task or read books outside of your preferred genres.

I  don't know what I am getting into with this challenge!!

Welcome to the Land of Oz!
