CCC 2018/19 Listopia Challenge

Crazy Challenge Connection discussion on goodreads

Yearly Challenges  2018/19 Listopia Challenge

2018/19 LISTOPIA CHALLENGE
DURATION : May 1, 2018 – April 30, 2019
Have you used the Listopia function here on Goodreads? It can be very helpful when searching for just the right book for a specific task. For those who aren't familiar with it, at the top of any Goodeads page, hover over the word Browse, then click on Lists in the menu that opens.

This challenge will either introduce you to Listopia or bring you back to visit an old friend. See the different challenge levels for the number of books and lists that are required.

When you sign up for the challenge, be sure to tell us which level you’re attempting. You may upgrade your challenge as the year progresses, if you’d like. Read the Level requirements carefully, as they have changed since last year's challenge! In addition, please be sure to read the Special Notes below. Hopefully, those will answer any questions you may have, but if not, please ask your questions NOW, so you approach the challenge correctly right from the start :)

LEVEL 1:
You must use 25 DIFFERENT lists for this level!
Read one book from each of 25 lists:
* Ten of these lists MUST BE among the lists posted below.
* The remaining 15 books can be from any Listopia list you choose, but you MUST post a link to the list you've used.

For each book, be sure to tell us which list it was on, and the book's position on that list. If you don’t, you won’t get credit for reading the book.

My List:

LEVEL 2:
Each list for this level must be unique. You may repeat up to 10 of the lists you used in Level 1, if you wish, but you can only use each of those duplicates ONE time in this level.
Complete Level 1 AND THEN
Read one book from each of another 25 different lists
:
* Ten books MUST come from ten lists posted below that you haven't already used.
* Another five books must come from the lists below, but you can repeat up to five of the posted lists that you used in Level 1 OR choose five of the posted lists that you haven't yet used OR a combination of repeated lists and new lists. If you repeat lists, please indicate in some way that they are repeats.
* The remaining 10 books can be from any unique Listopia list you choose, but you must post the link to the list. Remember that these 10 books must be from ten different lists that you have not already used in this challenge.

For each book, be sure to tell us which list it was on, and the book's position on that list. If the list is NOT one of those posted below, you MUST post a link to the list you've used. If you don’t, you won’t get credit for reading the book.

LEVEL 3:
Each list for this level must be unique. You may repeat up to 10 lists used in Level 1 or Level 2, if you wish, but you can only use each of those duplicates ONE time in this level.
Complete Level 1, then Level 2 AND THEN
Read one book from each of another 25 different lists
:
* Ten books MUST come from ten lists posted below that you haven't already used.
* Another ten books must come from the lists below, but you can repeat up to 10 of the posted lists you used in Level 1 or 2 OR choose ten lists you haven't yet used OR a combination of repeated lists and new lists.
NOTE: Yes, you may use the same list three times -- once for each level -- if you wish.
* The remaining 5 books can be from any unique Listopia list you choose, but you must post the link to the list. Remember that these 5 books must be from five different lists that you have not already used in this challenge.

For each book, be sure to tell us which list it was on, and the book's position on that list. If the list is NOT one of those posted below, you MUST post a link to the list you've used. If you don’t, you won’t get credit for reading the book.

Whatever level you choose, remember that you MUST tell us which list each and every book is on in order to get credit for that book. It will be easiest for the mods if you separate your lists for each Level into Required Lists and Lists of My Choice, but please remember to post a link to any list you use that is not among the lists posted below.

SPECIAL NOTES:
* YES, you may use a list up to three times, as long as the list is used only ONCE per level.

* NO, you do not have to use your own lists. You may select all of your books from the lists provided, as long as each level has 25 different lists.

* YES, you must complete a level before moving on to another, higher level.

* Remember that these lists are edition-specific, but we're not going to be that picky. Except for the cover-based lists, if any edition of a book is on one of our lists, we'll accept it. For the lists whose theme is a specific cover color/item/whatever, you MUST read the edition of the book that is on the list.

* If a list is shown in italics here, it means we will accept any book from the series on the list. If you use this option, please indicate that you are doing so.

* If a trilogy or boxed set, etc. is on the list and you read one book from that trilogy or set, as long as it meets our page requirement, it will count.

CHALLENGE RULES :
See this thread for more detailed rules for all CCC challenges.

♦ If you want to participate in this challenge, please sign up by telling us which level you've chosen. This gives us a post to link you to, which you can use to update your books as the challenge progresses.

♦ Unless otherwise noted, books must be at least 150 pages long. (See the link above for rules regarding graphic novels.) Books may only be used for one task in this challenge, but cross-challenge posting is encouraged :) Re-reads are allowed, as long as you read the entire book. You must read at least half of the book AFTER the challenge begins in order to count it for this challenge.

For each book you read, please post a link to the title, and indicate the author and the date you finished reading it. For this challenge, you must also post a link to the list each book is on.
    * If you don’t know how to post a link to the book title, see the instructions here: Add a link to the book title

♦ When you complete the challenge, please post your entire list as a new message. If you do this while you still have the Edit window open, it will copy all of your links and formatting. If you don’t repost your list, your name will not be added to the list of those who have completed the challenge.

THE LISTS:REMINDER: If a list is shown in italics here, it means we will accept any book from the series on the list. If you use this option, please indicate that you are doing so.
