Thanks so much for making me aware of the existence of this Roman villa. I had no idea! I just googled Roman villas in Sicily and found out there are 3 in Sicily: this one in Patti that you show, the really famous one in Piazza Armerina, and the Villa Romana del Tellaro near Noto in the SE.
You can see the autostrada above on the right.
I wish I could have looked down those holes!
